The Village Society’s latest summer venture is to combine a visit to a village garden with a musical event. Bring along a rug or chairs and a gazebo if you wish and a picnic to enjoy a delightful evening of song. The first Midsummer Music evening welcomes the well-known local chamber choir, Tamesis, directed by Louise Rapple who teaches music at Shiplake College. You will be entertained with Songs from the Silver Screen, a celebration of film music across the last sixty-odd years, ranging from the classic divas to Disney.

We are invited to share the wonderful views from the garden of Kiln House, Kiln Lane, courtesy of Terri and Malcolm Jiggens.

Set up is from 4.30pm and the concert will begin at 5.30pm. Teas, coffee and home-made cakes will be for sale on arrival. Please come in from the Shiplake end of Kiln Lane. There is ample parking.

Tickets cost £12.50 and are available in the village shop or on-line from Tamesis. Any queries please phone Fiona Rollason 01189 462990.
